Decorating cake supplies can be very expensive, especially if you are just starting your business as a cake decorator.  Once you are ready to start your cake decorating business, you need to make a list of all the cake decorating tools and supplies that you will need.  First you need to make sure that you have containers to store all the cake and icing ingredients in bulk (flour, oil, sugar).  The best place to store them is in big plastic containers that have tight closing covers.  Next you have to think about getting a good mixer if you don’t already have one.  A good mixer can be a little expensive but if it’s a brand name and a good one it will last you longer and save you money in the long run.

After creating your list of all the supplies you need to get, you will need to locate a store that sells cake supplies.  Do check around to see if the prices are good because many times the so called wholesale stores can be more expensive than regular retail stores.  If you can’t find a wholesale cake supply store in your neighborhood you can usually find good deals at a discount supplies store. They might sometimes be cheaper than the so called wholesale companies.  You might want to get all of your decorating supplies in one place to get it cheaper for buying bulk.  When buying a lot of supplies in bulk rather than buying retail the difference in price can be a lot of money.  Always shop around to find the store that sells the cheapest decorating supplies.  When you start a new business every penny counts, it is very important to start a business without spending a lot of money.
